Who’s watching this for the third time?

I'm using these videos while I research my family tree and have organised them into a little playlist. My x9 great grandfather was also named Christopher, just like the composer of the first tune. I found him via the baptism of his son who was born on the 6th of April 1655 and was also named Christopher. They lived in a little town named Swell in Somerset. The culture was very different to this beautiful world but I'm just thinking right now, did the two Christophers also go to a market? Did young Christopher bug his dad to buy him some treat? All I have is a baptism record telling me the father Christopher existed, I can't find a marriage record or a baptism record of his own, but right now he's a person again, in my mind, going to a market with his son on his shoulders, rather than a name on a transcript.

I am studying music composition, and I would love to know what kinds of instruments or VSTs are used in these kinds of fantasy coastal songs. I know of one reoccurring string instrument that sounds like a violin, possibly along with some haunting keys? There are a lot of atmospheric layers that I have not quite grasped yet. I am especially interested in the kind of instrument that almost sounds like shells being bonked, or like a xylophone?
